Safe Inside. That’s the title of this latest work from Appaair.com. It’s a photo my daughter in-law took of her son Connor and his dog Harley while they were standing at the front door looking out into the world. Wonder what he was thinking? I want to go out and play? Mom can we go outside? But as with any work of art as it progresses it develops its own title. Even though this photo was taken pre covid I felt how secure Connor is in these times safe inside his house. So that’s why I chose this title for this work. This is only the second graphite pencil piece that I have done. I think I may do a few more! Hope you like it.
A self-taught artist born in 1960 youngest of five brothers. My older brothers were into cars back in the 70’s always customizing them in some way. One brother used to lay done some wild paint jobs on his cars that always amazed me at the time. He gave me a book, which I still have today titled The Art of Custom Painting. The author was Mr. Caiati, the Psychedelic Psycho. Once I got that book in my hands I was hooked! I always liked art in school. My teacher said I had talent, lol! I used to doodle a lot. I liked drawing Rat Fink style hot rods. At the age of 16 I went down to Sears and bought my first airbrush and air compressor.
